Maggie Pate is the founder, designer, and artist behind NÅDE Studio, where “Nåde”—Danish for grace—guides her ethos of sustainability, texture, and botanical beauty. After a career as an international fashion model, she transitioned into textile arts in New York, developing a cross-disciplinary practice that blends regional plant dyes, food‑waste pigments, and fiber art. Based in the Hudson Valley and Berkshires, her studio embraces 100 % eco‑friendly methods, from growing dye plants to repurposing local restaurant scraps.
In 2018, she published The Natural Colors Cookbook, a guide to food‑waste dyeing aimed at making sustainable textiles accessible. Maggie also leads workshops and e‑courses on natural dyeing, botanical printing, and plant‑based paint, and exhibits her work in museums and galleries nationally.
