Our 2026 Herb Collection features four thoughtfully selected herbs, cultivated exclusively for our Unit by the renowned Well-Sweep Farm. Priced at $48, the set includes a beautifully designed booklet with detailed herb profiles and inspiring recipe suggestions to bring their flavors to life.

 

Nepitella (Clinopodium nepeta)
Nepitella, a minty lemon flavor with a hint of oregano, has small gray-green leaves and sprays of tiny lavender to white flowers. A perennial, this plant commonly grows across the Mediterranean, North Africa and parts of Central Asia. Also known as mentuccia romana, it has been used by generations of Italians to flavor mushrooms and many other vegetables, such as artichokes, eggplants, potatoes and zucchini. Grow in full sun to partial shade in well- drained soil. Nepitella has a long history of use as a tea for digestive and respiratory problems, insomnia and headache.

 

Turmeric (Curcuma longa)

Turmeric is a tropical plant related to ginger, grown for its bright orange underground rhizomes and thrives in warm, moist, partially shaded conditions.It has been used for over 2,000 years in cooking, medicine, and rituals, especially in Indian and Asian traditions.Its key compound, curcumin, has antioxidant properties and is used to aid digestion and support healing.Turmeric is widely used as a spice and natural dye, giving a rich yellow color to foods like curries, rice, and mustard.

 

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus)

West Indies LemonGrass is a tall, aromatic grass with lemon-scented stalks, thriving in warm climates with full sun and well-drained soil.Native to South and Southeast Asia, it is now widely cultivated in tropical regions worldwide.It has long been used in Asian cuisine and traditional medicine, especially in Thai and Vietnamese dishes.Lemongrass supports digestion, helps reduce stress and inflammation, and is commonly used as tea or essential oil.

 

Costmary (Tanacetum balsamita)

Costmary, also known as Bible leaf, is a fragrant perennial herb with soft, oval leaves and a minty-balsamic scent.Native to Europe and parts of Asia, it thrives in sunny locations with well-drained soil and moderate watering.Historically, it was used in herbal medicine for digestion and as a strewing herb, and to scent books and linens.Today, it is grown mainly as an ornamental and for its aromatic leaves, sometimes used in teas and potpourri.
